Methodology

How this works

What gets in

Every entry must point to a verifiable public source: an EEOC release, OSHA citation, DOJ filing, SEC action, DOL action, court record, government report, press release, or a major news investigation. Submissions without a real source are rejected.

Verification

Submitted records land in a pending queue and are not publicly visible until a reviewer opens the cited URL and confirms the entry matches what the source actually says. The summary must be neutrally stated.

What this isn't

This isn't a verdict. An EEOC complaint is not a finding; a lawsuit is not a judgment; a news report is not a court ruling. Each entry reflects what its source reflects — an allegation, a settlement, a citation, a verdict — and says so. We don't characterize a company as guilty.

Right of response

Companies named in any record can submit an on-the-record response, which attaches to the entry. Corrections supported by a source are made promptly. To request a correction, use the submission form and select the relevant company.

Categories

Records are tagged into broad categories — harassment, discrimination, wage theft, safety violation, retaliation, fraud, environmental, data breach, workplace violence, union activity, and other — based on what the underlying source describes.

Severity

A 1-to-5 severity tag reflects scale of impact (people affected, financial magnitude, whether a regulator acted) — not a moral score.
